How We Work

The garden provides a place to garden, the necessary tools, guidance, and all-around fun for the beginning to advanced gardener.  All are encouraged to participate, though keeping in mind that the full garden space is shared and worked equally by all members, rather than having individual plots for rent to its members.  In this way we are reaching out to the community, engaging and educating while growing food.  Mulberry Community Gardens is concerned, most importantly, with growing gardeners both by welcoming the community and by reaching out to school groups. Permaculture projects are welcome.

I’ve just moved from the Cedar Rapids, IA area to Fort Collins. I was involved with a great community run organization called “Feed Iowa First” that distributes food grown around the city to members of the community. I am eager to learn, connect, and just generally be a part of the gardening and farming community in Fort Collins. Is there anything special I need to do to sign up? Obviously it will be a couple months until hands can get into dirt, but just doing my homework ahead of time. Thank you!

      Sarah,
I’m sorry it took so long to reply to your request. We would love to have you join our community. We do activities year round. In the winter months, we plan for garden planting and other activities and then we get started early in our hoop house to get plants going in anticipation of getting dirty. If you would like to work with us, please sign up for our newsletter or send an email to the garden coordinator Lorraine Dunn at lorrainemcgardens@gmail.com
      Thank you

      Ian,
I’m sorry it took so long to reply to your request. Mulberry Community Gardens is not a plot based community garden. We feel it is much better to garden as a community, so we garden together and share together. If you would like to work with us, please sign up for our newsletter or send an email to the garden coordinator Lorraine Dunn at lorrainemcgardens@gmail.com
      Thank you
